We were unlucky not to get at least a point in this game, and we can take a lot of encouragement from a good second half and the fact we played their best team with 4 or 5 players either missing, injured or playing out of position and i think with a full team we'll beat them next time. this is the match that should keep our feet on the ground and ensure we win the rest of our games and win the league.

the first half was quite poor by our standard but after a ball into the box chris managed to swivel and put us 1 up after a slight deflection. So all things going to plan but unfortunately it didn't last. after a throw in to the box that their striker beat Malc to, the ball ballooned to the back post and their winger out jumped Shane to nod in to equalise. to be fair i did hear Shane scurry through the grass but even with his frog like abilities he didn't stand a chance. this just highlights our weaknesses from set pieces into the box, we need players to organise better and quicker to make sure we match up and we also need to attack the ball a bit more. their defenders won pretty much everyhing even though Chris and Dan were putting themselves about. added to this was the fact their linesman was at the Casey master class and had his arm in a permanant Nazi salute which the ref agreed with every time. shocking.
So on to their second goal and the reason Josh gets my vote this week, Baker payed a backpass to Josh who then picked out their striker beautifully with a left footed air shot / slice. with an empty net to put it in to we went in at half time 2 -1.
Morty did his best to raise morale with the 'your playing Shit pull your finger out speech' that even Harlow would have been proud of! we were also greeted by Summers sporting a camera, my opinion is that it should be banned as its obviously a jinx. Josh and Dan were worrying too much about their hair and make up to concentrate properly just in case they got snapped. only saving grace is spearsy wasn't their or he would have been mincing it up too! :)
Back to the second half and we basically dominated the whole 45 minutes. Chris went through a couple of times only to see his shots saved and cleared off the line. (Apologies i let him tie his own laces this week) Sam also had a goal bound effort blocked. Ben was then introduced and Brad was pushed into midfield in a formation change to try and force the equaliser and within 10 mins we were back on level terms. Ben received the ball and after 2 or 3 shimmeys he laid it to Dan who luckily scuffed his shot into the bottom corner as their defenders threw themselves in the way. 2-2 and based on the play only likely to be one winner! how wrong that was, with 5 or so minutes left their midfielder turned about 40 yards out and hit an ambitious shot that looped into the top corner, good effort but only 1 in 20 would ever go in but we were undone. we did force another clearance off the line in the last 2 mins, chris heading down from a corner that the man on the post blocked.
Full time and a hard defeat to swallow.
This week we had an off week. Josh wasn't ever really tested but needs to get some new boots to sort the kicking out! i think the defence did well, in particular Malc and Shane. After last weeks horror show i think Malc was superb and won nearly everything, i think they only had 4 shots on goal the whole game. the wingers did ok but this week i think we lost it in the middle. Ash was playing out of position and Josh was up against one of the better players in the league but we didn't offer enough options when they had the ball. i also think Chris and Dan did well and put themselves about against a very strong and organised defence.

we've got three weeks before the next league game to get our heads straight but like i said with a full team we should beat anyone. lets keep confidence in each other and lets keep our feet on the ground. everyone will drop points we just need to make sure we drop the least from now until the end of the season.
